Subsequent to that, Mike moved into commercial construction and worked for PCL in Calgary and Toronto. During that time he worked on large projects such as Toronto's Scotia Plaza as well as leading teams on smaller commercial projects.  Being a licenced carpenter, Mike decided to focus on high-quality finish carpentry and started his home renovation company in 1991. Since founding GREENbilt, he has completed additional training in green home building. He has passed the Energy Advisor exam, and has trained in Energy Star and LEED for Homes construction.
