Eric Abadie hits a few keys on his home computer, and hydro bills for the past 15 months glow on the screen. In January 2007, he and his family used 614 kilowatt-hours of electricity in their Milton home. For the same month this year, the total was down to 521. February consumption dropped from 599 kilowatt-hours to 561.

What are the trendiest paint colours this spring?
Misty Walker, marketing manager for Olympic Paint, points to ice blue and fuchsia, while Dominique Pepin, brand manager for Sico Paints, loves soft yellows matched with pale brown or pink. Both agree, however, that the hottest hue might just be green, in the sense that more consumers want paints that contain lower levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
